How to delve deeper into classical music?
I’ve just started getting into classical music a couple of weeks ago and i want to get deep into the genre but there’s so much to explore that i’m kind lost.
i Listened to some musicians like Mozart, Bethoven and Bach but i saw myself getting more interested in guys like Mahler, Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich.
I don’t know if they fall in the same category of classic music but i enjoyed how their music sounded way more than the aforementioned guys.
I watched the famous Leonard Bernstein Mahler conduction and there i knew i had to keep digging more into this genre because no other genre of music touched me more deeply before.
What i want to know is if there’s a roadmap of composers i can follow to better understand the evolution of classical music and if there’s an ideal way of listening.
Usually i find myself listening to the movements alone instead of the whole piece but that’s how i enjoy music (i rarely listen to entire albums) maybe that’s something i need to change?
