Please tell me if I'm right

I just received an email at my business email address. It states, "Hello, I noticed your listing for (gives the title of an item I listed today). Is it still valid and what is the quality?"

This strikes me as off for several reasons- "valid" seems a strange way to describe a listing, the quality of the item is apparent from the description and many pictures- but mostly because this did not come through Etsy messages. I don't even know how someone could find my business email through what is posted on Etsy.

Am I right to question this contact? Do I need to do/change anything to secure my shop account?

First brick and mortar foray

I've had an Etsy store for a while selling vintage precious and costume jewelry. I've secured two large glass cabinets at a local vintage shop so am needing to figure out how to display and tag my pieces. I'm hoping someone here can help with my struggle or lead me to a good resource

I've read so much online that I'm dizzy. I had branded earring hang cards and price tags printed. I purchased probably too many jewelry display props and nothing looks cohesive. My cabinets are each almost 6 feet tall x 3 feet wide x 15 inch deep with 4 moveable glass shelves. The cabinets can be locked or left open. My current plan is to have everything over $50 locked and the other unlocked.

  1. How much should I put in them? I have a huge inventory but I don't want it to feel crammed.

  2. What kind of price tags should I use? My current branded ones are 2x2.5" and I print a smaller label to affix to them, ex: Vintage Amethyst in Sterling Silver Ring, Size 7, $. Those labels seem really bulky, for example, when the rings are in a velvet ring tray (with the little channels) but the barbell ones don't allow enough room to "explain" the piece.

  3. How should I display sets? I have lots of necklaces with matching earrings, bracelets with matching earrings, full parures, etc. What combination of props should I use? ChatGPT says I should tell "stories" with the groupings but I can't even figure out how to display a necklace and earrings together. I don't have enough busts to display each necklace and, even then, am left with not knowing how to display the matching pieces.

I sincerely apologize for the length of this and am grateful for all that slogged through.

After reading through the posts on this sub, I have a question about getting a metallic finish on just certain areas on some branding material. Specifically, I need business cards and earring hang cards that I'd like to have gold metallic borders and on one shape on the face of the cards.

My local printer (I prefer local instead of one of the big online printers) says the only thing they can do is embossing that will result in the back side appearing dented out. Sorry for not knowing correct terminology.

I want some kind of foiling (?) that sits on the surface of the cards, not punched in. Is this something that can be done? Can foiling be done using different gradients (?) so it isn't just one shade of gold? How pricey is this? I'm not troubled by paying whatever is necessary to get the look I want.

I'm bummed because the non metallic cards I just had printed left my logo about 1/4 inch off center instead of centered as I requested. I provided vectors of every layer of the logo and of the background and, perhaps, misunderstood that things would be centered. Is this usual practice? They also used kind of flimsy flat cardstock instead of the heavy linen texture I requested. Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for information about print shops. I need branded earring hang cards printed but none I've found are able to cut 2 slots (3/4 inch x 1/8 inch) about 1 1/2 inches from the edge so that I can hang clip on and screw back earrings.

I'd cut them myself but can't find a slot punch with a deep enough throat to reach far enough in from the edge of the card.

Do you guys know if some print shops are able to do this and I just haven't found the right one?

Thanks so much for any insight you might offer.
