Question for German Detrans:
Very specific, but I have transitioned at 18 through the TSG. I wanted to detransition through the Selbstbestimmungsgesetz. The office is unsure how to deal with this and told me I will have to take my old deadname, instead of choosing a name that - in short form - is the same nickname my friends and colleagues used for the last 15 years. Others say it should be possible to take a new name, because the old TSG basically erased the old deadname out of my file.
Did anyone go through a similar process? I am very confused at this and am waiting for an answer from the office since the last 2 weeks. I don’t like the wait, because I will still have to wait 3 more months after submitting my form anyways and if I knew that I will have to take my old deadname anyways, then I can skip the wait and just send them in.
