I’m a perm employee in OPSEU and have just hit a vacation increase. I’m a Girl Guide leader and take my youth out on a 4 day back country camping trip annually and end up taking 1-2 vacation days to cover it. Of course it’s a luxury to be able to do this but I’m curious if anyone’s been able to take a different type of leave to cover volunteer hours? I.e. compassionate leave etc.
I’m doing a short trip with some friends that have never canoe camped before. Typically I buy the premade bacon from the store that is shelf stable but trying to find cost cutting solutions in this economy. How long will fully cooked, vacuum sealed bacon be good for (if at all) ? Our trip is short only 3 days but I’d love to know for longer trips as well. Heat of summer in Canada 🍁
After an incredibly long Canadian winter I’ve uncovered my precious Andiamo Piano to note these starburst “cracks”. Upon looking on the inside it looks like there’s some marks on the Kevlar where the starbursts are. It took a tumble during a windstorm and I thought I got off unscathed. Does this need some sort of patch? What brand epoxy is suggested if so?
She isn’t a super fancy brand but she’s well loved and I’m so sad 😢
