21yo Russian Java/Kotlin dev (T-bank fintech) is it realistic to get a work visa in Denmark with 1 year of Junior experience Junior?

Hi everyone,

I’m a 21‑year‑old software developer from Russia. For the past half‑year I’ve been working as a Java/Kotlin backend developer at T‑bank (formerly Tinkoff) – one of the largest and most respected fintech companies in the CIS region. I worked on high‑load microservices, wrote clean code, participated in code reviews, and delivered features end‑to‑end.

However, given the current situation in my country, I no longer want to stay. I don’t support the war, and I’m genuinely tired of living with constant anxiety about the future. I want to relocate to a stable, safe, and democratic country – and Denmark has always been my top choice.

I’m ready to move legally – I need a work visa (positive list / fast‑track scheme, etc.). I speak English fluently (C1) and I’m willing to learn Danish if that helps. I have a Bachelor’s degree (or will finish soon – let me know if that’s crucial) and a solid GitHub portfolio with real‑world projects.

Now my questions to those who live and work in Denmark as IT specialists:

  1. Is 1 year of commercial experience enough to be considered for a job sponsor? Or is it still too junior for most Danish companies?
  2. Which tech stacks are most in demand in Denmark right now? Is Java/Kotlin/Spring well received, or should I switch to .NET / Python / Go to increase my chances?
  3. How hard is it to get a work visa as a non‑EU citizen? Do I need a job offer first, or can I apply for a job‑seeker visa?
  4. What’s the salary range for a junior/mid‑level backend dev in Copenhagen or Aarhus – and will it be enough to live comfortably?
  5. Do employers care about my nationality? Are there any hidden biases, or is the market open to skilled foreigners?
  6. What would you advise to someone like me – what should I focus on, what mistakes to avoid, and what steps to take right now to maximise my chances?

I know it won’t be easy, but I’m young, motivated, and I want to build a life in a country I can be proud of. Any honest feedback – even harsh – is highly appreciated.

Thank you for reading, and thanks in advance for your replies.

UPDATE: WOOOW, GUYS, I REALLY THANKS YOU'RE ALL! Despite the fact that I'm from Russia, I really want to live a better live and getting close to freedom countries. Have a good day you're all!!! :)))
