Where can I find English-speaking jobs in landscape architecture in Denmark?

Hi everyone! I’m a Ukrainian landscape architect with 7+ years of experience, currently completing a PhD focused on urban vegetation, biodiversity and sustainable landscape design. I worked as a Landscape Architect and later Director & Design Lead in a landscape design and construction company, with experience taking projects from concept and technical design through construction and supervision. I also have international academic/research experience in Lithuania, Poland and Bulgaria. I’m currently looking for landscape architecture opportunities in Denmark and would be open to relocating. The problem I’m having is that I’m finding very few landscape architecture positions advertised in English on LinkedIn and company websites. I know there are international practices in Denmark, so I’m wondering if I’m simply looking in the wrong places. For landscape architects working in Denmark: Which studios are genuinely open to English-speaking landscape architects? Where do you usually find landscape architecture vacancies? Are there Danish job boards or professional networks I should be using? How important is Danish for an experienced landscape architect? Is contacting studios directly / sending unsolicited applications actually effective? I’d really appreciate any recommendations, personal experiences or names of studios I should look into.

Realistic Family Reunification approval timeline?

I (30M and Indian but work in the US) and wife (27F Danish and lives is Denmark) - we applied for family reunification on June 15, 2026. We meet all of the requirements for the FA1 family reunification but wanted to know if anyone got there’s approved in less than 4 months?
Also what is the realistic timeline to get an approval (in months)?

The wait time on the website is max 10 months but that’s too damn long.

Looking for internationals living and working in Denmark.

Hey everyone! 😊

I’m looking for internationals to talk with who currently work in Denmark and would be interested in having a short conversation with me about their experiences with building relationships and a social life in Denmark.

I am researching for a my Master’s thesis and really want to hear about the human side of moving here. Stuff like meeting Danes, making friends, building a life outside of work, feeling included (or not!) and all the other small things that might make Denmark easy or difficult to settle into. 😊

There are no right or wrong answers and no need for having a dramatic story to tell. I’m interested in the ordinary experiences too. Good and bad.

Should there be some Danes out there working with international colleagues, I would love to hear from you as well, since there is two sides to a story.

Please feel free to shoot me a message if you are interested or have any questions.

Thanks! 🙏

Is it okay to let my spouse use my company-provided iPhone? (Danish IT Policy & Corporate Tax Question)

Hi everyone,

I need quick advice on Danish fri telefon tax rules and IT compliance.

My contract places a work phone "at the Employee's disposal." I put my work SIM into my personal iphone, and gave the physical company iPhone to my wife. She has used it for sometime, couple of months, with her own personal SIM card.

However, the IT policy says the company can monitor device internet use.

  • Does fri telefon or "employee's disposal" allow family members to use the physical hardware?
  • Can company MDM software monitor her personal data/traffic if she uses her own SIM?
  • Am I risking my job here?

Thanks!

Commuting 60+ km one way to Copenhagen a few times a week. How do you make it work?

We are starting to think more and more about moving further away from Copenhagen.

Now that we have kids, we would really like some more space, ideally a house, but we also want somewhere a bit quieter than Copenhagen.

Another important part for us is financial freedom. We do not necessarily want to spend everything we can afford on a house just to stay close to Copenhagen. We would rather find a place where we can get more space while still having some room in our budget to live, save and enjoy things with the family.

So far I have been looking at places like Præstø, Holbæk and Frederikssund, although Frederikssund seems a bit more expensive, and Præstø is on the cheaper side where it looks like you can still find houses for around 2 million DKK.

The main concern for me is work. I would still need to commute to Copenhagen a few times a week, potentially 60+ km each way.

For those of you doing something similar, I would love to hear about your personal experiences.

  1. Where did you move to?
  2. How often do you commute to Copenhagen?
  3. Do you drive or take the train?
  4. How long does your commute actually take door to door?
  5. Has the commute become exhausting over time, or do you get used to it?
  6. Do you regret moving further away from Copenhagen?

My partner is Danish and does not mind finding something to do in whatever area we move to, so we are fairly flexible regarding location.

We are looking at a budget of around 3 to 3.5 million DKK for a house, but ideally the whole point of moving further out would be to get more for our money and have some financial freedom as well.

Are there any other areas you would recommend where this budget is realistic and the connection to Copenhagen is still reasonable?

Would especially love to hear from people who made the move.

Desperately need help with research!!

Hi, I just moved to Denmark and I don't know many people here but I'm still finishing my master's thesis research, and I would really appreciate your help. My study explores the impact of shortened attention spans on the effectiveness of digital advertising formats across the Polish and Danish markets.

If you have 5 minutes to spare, I would be incredibly grateful if you could complete my survey.

Your responses will be anonymous and used solely for academic research.

Thank you so much for your time and support it really means a lot!
