I need some help dialing in my Breville/Sage Barista Pro

The machine is brand new, bought in April this year in Denmark.

Current settings:

• Inner burr: 6
• External grind setting: I can't really go lower than 12

I watched several YouTube videos where people recommend an inner burr setting of 3 and an external grind setting around 5, but when I try anything close to that, nothing comes out of the grinder.

The best shot I've managed so far was with:

• Inner burr: 6
• Grind setting: 19

But now I'm wondering if that's actually too coarse. Most of the advice I see online suggests much finer settings, so I'm not sure if something is wrong with my grinder, my beans, or if every machine is simply different.

Has anyone with a Barista Pro had to grind this coarse to get a good extraction? Is it normal to be around grind 19 with the inner burr at 6?

For reference, I'm using Lavazza Espresso Barista beans and aiming for a standard espresso recipe.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Couldn't get used to my Kobo Clara BW. What should I try next?

I'm looking for recommendations for a black and white eReader with physical page turn buttons. Also, open to color if it's good enough.

I previously owned a Kobo Clara BW, but I ended up selling it. On paper, it seemed perfect, but I just couldn't get comfortable with it. There was always something distracting me while reading. Sometimes it was the font, even after trying different options, and sometimes it was the gap between the screen and the bezels. I can't fully explain it, but the device never clicked with me.

Right now, I really like the form factor of the Onyx Boox Go 7, but I don't have much else to compare it against. The PocketBook Era BW is another option I've looked at, but from the videos I've watched, it seems quite slow, although I know videos don't always tell the full story. Unfortunately, I don't have the option to try either device before buying.

Are there any other devices I should be looking at?

I've also considered the Kindle Paperwhite, but I'm not sure how easy it is to sideload EPUBs. On my Kobo, I was using https://send.djazz.se/, and I noticed it looks like Kindle supports sending books as well, but I've never tried it.

The most important things for me are:

• A very crisp screen with excellent text clarity
• Comfortable reading in bed and in daylight
• Physical page turn buttons if possible
• A device that feels pleasant and distraction-free, for long reading sessions

I've also looked at the Kobo Libra Colour. I don't think I actually need color, but I really like the shape and the button layout.

I'd love to hear from people who have used the Boox Page, PocketBook Era BW, Kindle Paperwhite, Kobo Libra Colour, or anything else that might fit what I'm looking for.

PocketBook vs Kobo (and Color vs B&W): Need Advice for Replacing My 12 Year Old Kindle

I’m looking to buy a new eReader after my 12 year old Kindle finally gave up.

I have two questions that I’m trying to figure out:

1. Should I get a color eReader or stick with black and white?

I already have an iPad that I use for technical books with diagrams and illustrations, so I don’t necessarily need color. However, after watching some videos, the color screens look really nice. For those who own one, is the color experience worth the extra cost?

2. Should I get a PocketBook or a Kobo?

I’ll mainly be sideloading books and borrowing ebooks from the library.

The only device I’ve been able to see in person was the Kobo Clara. Honestly, it felt a bit cheap because of the plastic construction, especially compared to my old Kindle.

For people who have used both brands, which would you recommend and why?

How do you learn new things as a developer?

When you want to learn a new technology, framework, language, or concept, what does your process look like?

Do you mostly use AI tools, documentation, YouTube, courses, building projects, reading source code, or something else?

I would also love to hear the actual steps you take when learning something new. For example, where do you start, how do you practice, and how do you go from beginner to feeling comfortable with it?

I am looking for some inspiration and would love to improve my own learning process.

What’s your personal dev setup?

I’m curious what people are using these days for personal projects.

At work I have an M3 Max, but I don’t really want to use it for personal stuff. At the same time, I don’t love the idea of buying a personal laptop just to have it sitting at home collecting dust.

I’ve been thinking about maybe using a cloud VM / remote dev environment instead and just developing there (SSH, VS Code remote, etc.).

Has anyone here actually gone that route long term?

How does it feel compared to a local machine?

Would love to hear your setups and tradeoffs.
