Parking ticket in Sarajevo

What should I do about my parking fine?

I hired a car for our holiday last month. I got a 40.00km parking ticket in Sarajevo on 14th July and returned the hire car on 16th. I notified the hire car place about the ticket and asked if I could pay it myself directly. They said to wait as the police would send the notice to them and they’d email it to me. It’s been a month now and I still haven’t had an email.

Should I contact them or keep waiting? I’m worried the fine will increase.

Are cockroaches common in Bosnian homes? Accommodation issue

Hello. I’m currenrty on day 9 of an 11 day trip to Bosnia. My son and I have stayed in 4 other apartments in Sarajevo. Mostar. Jajce and Travnik, and had no problems. This final apartment in Sarajevo is by far the most expensive at €267 for 2 nights. it’s an old building and I’ve noticed a few issues with cleanliness (hair in one bed, spillage on the floor not cleaned up), but nothing major. I just got up in the night, and found a cockroach in the bathroom.

Im from the Uk, where cockroaches aren’t common at all, so I’m not really sure if this is a big thing or not. I googled it and it said that we need to leave as one cockroach means there could be an infestation and that’s a health issue. is that an overreaction?

I booked through booking.com.

what do I do?

World Cup games shown in Mostar?

Xan anyone recommend a good place to watch world cup games in Mostar old town over the next 4 days please?

We’re currently sat in a bar, trying to watch an extremely poor stream of the France v Morocco game and are losing the will to live! All we want is a decent sized screen and a few drinks.

Any recommendations?

Sunday closures

I’m just planning our itinerary for a 11 night trip to Bosnia (5th - 16th July), and I’m wondering if tourist spots, cafes and restaurants etc stay open on Sundays. We arrive in Sarajevo late Sunday night, and expect to get to our apartment at around 11pm. Will there be any shops open for us to buy some essential groceries?

Then on the second Sunday, we’ll be waking up in Mostar and making our way to Jajce by car, stopping off at a few places on the way. Will tourist things be open? Will there be restaurants/cafes open? And most importantly, will anything be open in Jajce when we arrive? We’ll definitely be needing an evening meal somewhere.

Mobile data/roaming options

My son and I are going to Bosnia in 2 weeks. As a single mum, with very little travel experience, I’m starting to get a big stressed about all the things I need to organise. So I’m hoping to save some myself some stress by asking for advice here 😬 This probably one of many questions I’ll ask over the next couple of weeks, so please forgive me!

We currently live in the UK, I’m on Talkmobile, my son is on Voxi. Both out of contract. What are our options for our mobiles? E-sims? Switching to a provider that provides a good deal? Is there any particular network to avoid? Thank you!

Tips for an English tourist driving in Bosnia

My son(16) and I are visiting Bosnia in July. I’ll be hiring a car (small Renault Cleo or similar) at Sarajevo Airport and using it for our 11 day holiday, doing a small loop, staying at Sarajevo, Mostar, Jajce, Travnik and back to Sarajevo. We’ll also be visiting a few other places in those areas. I’ve never driven outside England, and I’m more than a little nervous!

Any tips or advice would be massively appreciated, especially on the use of sat nav, laws I should be aware of and things to avoid. Thank you!
