No more Homeowners insurance in Florida?
My wife and I have a 2br condo in central Florida and we’ve insured the condo since 2017 with USAA.
We just purchased a 4/3 single family home in central Florida with plans to sell our condo and called USAA for a quote. The USAA rep we spoke to said they no longer insure homes in Florida. Is that correct? Are we just grandfathered in to our current homeowners insurance for the current condo?
The USAA rep told us that he could act as an agent and shop for policies for us, and while USAA would act as our contact for the insurance company we might select, we would be insured by a different company.
Does that sound correct?
