Surely you have heard hundreds if not thousands of complains from patients about the nurses buzzer waking them up.

Not to mention the buzzer also wakes up your agitated, wandering, high falls risk dementia patient. Some even thought it was a phone/ someone is on the door and trying to get out of the bed to have a look.

I feel like in 2026, we should have the technology to overcome this.

I heard that in St Vincent hospital in Sydney, nurses carry pagers so that when patient buzz, they can receive a page and see who's buzzing them.

Have you encounter other solution for this nurses buzzer issue? In ideal world where fund is unlimited and hospitals are able to accommodate this new technology, what can be done to overcome this noisy call bell problem?
