What’s the best way to deal with a large fragrance material collection?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice from people with more experience in DIY perfumery.
I’ve recently ended up with a much larger collection of fragrance materials than I realistically need for my own projects. Most of it is in good condition and properly stored, but there’s simply more material than I’m likely to use myself.
For those of you who have been in a similar situation, what did you do with your surplus?
Do you usually keep everything and slowly work through it, split it into smaller quantities, pass some on to other perfumers, or is there another practical approach I’m overlooking?
I’d be particularly interested in hearing from people who have dealt with a large surplus before. I’d like to make sure the materials end up being useful to someone rather than simply sitting unused.
