Pandavara betta Tumakuru - Unexplored raw adventure

Pandavara betta lies in the Devarayanadurga range, and is visible while driving towards DD hills from Tumakuru side through Belgumba. There was literally nobody in and around this place when we started the climb. There are no trails to scale this hill, and one needs to explore and make their own trail. A lot of steep ascents, slippery rocks and climbing massive boulders. You can encounter a lot of birds, butterflies, snakes, and we even found bear droppings and footprints close to the top. The sloth bears found here are shy animals and they come out mostly during night time.

It's covered in thick forest and has patches of grass everywhere. It's not advised to do it solo as you may get lost numerous times due to unmarked trails, and may encounter dangerous wildlife. Nature preserved at its finest, untamed form. A must for pure adventure seekers and wilderness explorers!!

Ramdevarabetta Tumakuru

Explored in and around Ramdevarabetta Tumakuru. Hidden gem for a short hike which has an incredible landscape and good views. Very few people know about it's alternate, but steeper and challenging route which was very enjoyable!!

Completed Kurinjal peak trek yesterday, after doing Kudremukha the day before

While Kudremukha opens up into the scenic grasslands right from the beginning, Kurinjal is the opposite. You start from inside Bagavati Nature camp entrance and cross a bridge where Bhadra River flows. Previously, people were allowed to go take a dip inside the river, but now the river is in full flow and not allowed.

Then, you go through many small streams until you reach the forest section. From here, you start ascending through dense and lush evergreen forest, which was a sight to behold. As you go deep inside, sunlight barely makes it through the forest canopy. You come across various small waterfalls, and the water is refreshing.

This forest section stretches for about 5 Kms, after which the final ascend opens up into the familiar Shola grasslands of Kudremukha range. 1 Km is moderately steep with the last remaining Km being quite steep. The final climb is worth it to get a spectacular view from the top, although mist covers it most of the time. Finally, the descend is through a shorter albeit steeper path, but is very enjoyable. Overall, it was a fantastic 14 Km trek unlike no other!!

Completed the Kudremukha trek

I'm a solo trekker from Bangalore, India. Left Bangalore Friday overnight on a sleeper bus, and reached Kalasa by 6 am. Had pre-booked a homestay to fresh up. I started at the base point at around 8 am and was able to reach the peak by 10:30 am as a fast trekker. The trek is 9-11 Km one way.

You cross numerous streams right from the beginning, and even encounter a few waterfalls closer to the top. I spent around 1 hour at the top peacefully, with nobody having reached the peak. And started descending at around 11:30, and reached back by 1:30. Trekking in the monsoon is the best!!

Kurinjal trek on 19th July

I'm a solo trekker, doing the Kurinjal trek on 19th after completing the Kudremukha trek on 18th. As we have to travel 18 Km to Bagavati Nature camp to start the trek, if anyone is doing the Kurinjal trek on 19th, I was looking for people to share the jeep ride or join them. Please let me know. Thanks
