Please helppp!! 🙏🏻
Hello everybody I need help identifying what is wrong with my cat because the vet hasn’t helped. For starters my cat Ginger is a female long haired Scottish straight. I’ve had her ever since she was a baby kitten and she’ll be 6 this year. Because she is a Scottish straight she had a flat face and so ik this doesn’t really help my situation. I’d also like to mention she has never been sick or showed absolutely 0 sinus symptoms in her entire life up until this started. She’s never even been to the vet except for when she got neutered and got her shots. She started showing symptoms late November of last year. It just started out as sneezing and a tiny runny nose but nothing too serious. I took her to the vet and they gave her some steroid and antibiotic shots and sent me home with lysine powder. (Still using it to this day btw and hasn’t done shit) over time nothing worked and I was still seeing the same vet and they proscribed me liquid medicine and gave her more shots. Nothing worked. I eventually took her to a different vet and the new vet basically told me everything the other vet was giving her was bullshit and it was only temporary fix stuff. So he reassured me that what he was gonna give her would last for months and that I wouldn’t even need any liquid medicine or anything he’d just give her this one shot and boom she’s better. It also didn’t do shit and he claimed she had fleas which she never had. Sooo I took her to a 3rd vet!! Over the span of 2 months I got her x-Rey’s, blood work, and countless shots and liquid medication to give her at home and absolutely NOTHING worked! At the beginning of all of this the first vet told me it was a respiratory infection and that it was common in cats with small faces. The 3rd vet confirmed through the x-Ray’s that her lungs were really healthy matter of fact and that all her insides and kidneys looked good. When this all started she was living with my other parent while I was with at other parents house and she wasn’t being tended too as well as she should have. She lost half a pound which for her only weighing 6 pounds originally was really bad according to the vet. I felt terrible but she has since gained the weight back and in a much better home situation. I stopped taking her to the vet about 3 months ago due to no answers for any vet and having no more money to spend. I am 18 freshly out of high school and my dad has been my only form of financial help throughout this issue with my cat but we have both spend thousands of dollars combined and we are no longer able to afford that. As of today she is super snotty and sneezes on absolutely every surface of my room. She also does this backwards cough thing (video displayed above) that the last vet told me was due to her trying to get more air in because she was having a hard time breathing. Since this started I have given her steamy showers and started using a humidifier in my room. As well as limiting the amount of coldness in my room. I have pictures as well that I will post in comments if possible. I need help please!! It hurts me seeing her suffer every day when I have tried everything I can do help.
