Hi all, I have a weekend trip planned with my SO and child for June 20-June 23. So I have a bit of time to get this sorted. Long story short, I got a new job and they agreed to my PTO already, but are requiring me to travel and have offered to fly me to my destination on June 20th instead of home. Great, I’ll meet my SO and child there and take the return flight with them…except now I realize that AA will auto cancel my return flight. Even though I’ll have made it to my destination on a separate AA reservation. I contacted customer service via chat and they said they could not mark my reservation as do not cancel due to me booking as Basic Economy. How screwed am I? I am honestly infuriated. TIA!
