Building an AI tool to support postpartum/pregnancy—what were the hardest, most overlooked parts of your journey?
Hello everyone,
First, I want to say how much respect I have for this community. Reading through the stories here, the resilience, vulnerability, and mutual support are incredibly moving.
I work at a health tech startup, and our team is currently trying to build an AI-powered tool specifically designed to support people navigating pregnancy and the postpartum period. However, we know that technology often misses the mark when it doesn’t listen to real human experiences first.
We want to build something that actually helps ease the burden, rather than just adding noise. If you are comfortable sharing, we would be incredibly grateful to hear:
What were the absolute hardest or most overwhelming parts of your journey? (e.g., tracking symptoms, navigating conflicting medical advice, managing mental health, the sudden shift in identity/support post-birth?)
What is something you wish you had known, or a resource you wish existed, during your most difficult moments?
If you’ve used digital health apps before, where did they fall short or feel impersonal?
Please only share what you feel comfortable putting out there. Your insights will directly help us focus on real, human pain points rather than just tech features.
Thank you so much for your time, your openness, and for letting me connect with your community.
