Grounds for filing a lawsuit in Turkey?
I (27f) recently (1year ago) have had a midface lift and temporal lift with Dr Yunus Saglam in Turkey.
I have mostly done the surgery to address the under eye malar bags. He quoted me 7000euro and said he think my face would benefit from a temporal lift as well and that he can do it for free included in the price. Since he is a medical professional I believed a temporal lift would benefit my aesthetic appearance.
The results came out horribly. My forehead is wide and unproportional, very alieny. (Not swelling, one year post op)
I have permanent dry eye syndrome, and have to use eye drops consistently. One of my eyes (left one like all of his patients) is pulled diagonally much more than the left whoch is causing the eyes to not be at the same level alongside with one eye being bigger than the other. This becomes even more pronounced when I smile.
My temple area is completely deformed. There are two huge dents in place where temporal fat used to be. The doctor moved all the tissue and ligaments from the temporal area to the forehead, leaving an uncanny unnatural face.
Since the temporal area is now just a huge dent the ligament that gets activated when I smile is now bulging out of my temporal area anytime I smile faintly. I have avoided smiling and laughing for a year now.
Finally the midface area might be the worse. Dr Yunus transferred all the fat right under the eyes which looks awful when I smile as the fat starts to close the eyes in. On top of all that the under eye and cheek area gets very lumpy when I smile or talk.
Finally the surgeries have been a huge disaster. It has been a major hit for my self esteem and the Dr Yunus doesnt seem to care one bit.
At first he told I will be satisfied with my results after one month, then 2, then 6, then a year and now finally he has stopped replying.
My question is if anyone has had a similar experience abroad; what are my options lawfully as a foreign citizen? Has anyone been botched by a surgeon and sued them?
Dozens of other patients of his have their faces ruined and are suffering complications. Would a group lawsuit be a better option?
