Which path do I take??

Hello I am currently trying to get into a vet tech program at a community college. However, I’ve been seeing so many people online working as a vet assistant while also going to tech school. When I asked my advisor about this he informed me that tech school would be too much to also hold down a vet assistant job.

So, I guess I’m really wondering if it would be advisable for me to obtain a vet assistant job and take classes through Penn Foster for my RVT. Or, should I just stay on my path of starting tech school in fall of 2027.

My biggest issue right now is I’m so ready to be working in the field. I’m struggling to show up to my part time job. I think if I were to become a vet assistant I would feel a better about what I’m doing and more fulfilled. I genuinely don’t know if I can keep working this part time job and go to school for another 4 years…I think I might go crazy.
