I’m a school bus driver and was told by my job that I can receive unemployment during the summer. Last year, I attempted for the entire summer, but to no avail because there was always “something missing” from my application. I would turn in what was missing and wait for a call back for like a month just to hear that something new was missing. I started my application a couple weeks ago and finally got a call today as I’m trying to attempt this again. They called me today saying I’m missing documents. I go to the portal to try to put in those documents and my password isn’t working (that is 100 percent correct). I apparently have 48 hours to do this. I tried to call the number and put my number on call back only to get called back and not actually be connected to someone. Does anyone actually receive unemployment in Illinois? This just feels like a scam to me at this point.
