Apprenticeship advice
Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice on my resume and apprenticeships in general.
I have some experience working as a construction labourer and I'm trying to break into an HVAC apprenticeship, but I'm having a really hard time finding someone to indenture me. I've already enrolled in an HVAC pre-employment program since I've heard it can help get your foot in the door, but honestly, without any prospects lined up right now, the idea of going through with it feels a little disheartening. The last thing I want is to invest $5,000+ into a program only to end up in the same situation afterward.
I'm also considering entering the pipe trades instead, as I've heard it can be easier to get into, and I'm thinking I could potentially use that experience to pivot back into the HVAC industry down the road.
I've uploaded my resume here and would really appreciate any feedback on how I can improve it. I did use AI to help tailor it to match keywords a little better, but everything on it is accurate to my actual experience.
I'd genuinely welcome any and all advice. this whole situation has been causing me a lot of anxiety and I'm honestly not sure what direction to take it in. I know a lot of people have gone through the HVAC pre-employment route only to face a tough job market, and I'm just trying to figure out how to navigate that.
Thanks so much for any help you can offer.
(P.S. I used Claude to help clean up this post as well)
