Andy Burnham pledges to devolve more power to Scots away from 'distant' Holyrood
Burnham promising "the biggest transfer of powers" has a strong echo of Gordon Brown's 2014 pledge that a no vote would lead within three years to a settlement "as close as
possible to federalism," which obviously never transpired.
Apart from anything else, is taking powers away from the parliament that Scotland voted to have those powers and giving them to bodies that even fewer people turn out to vote for than turn out in Holyrood elections, without a vote on that and without it being in a manifesto (and remember, he claims he can't introduce proportional representation because it wasn't in a manifesto) a) really a vote winner and b) a legitimate thing to do?
