PC game recommendations that I can sink hundreds of hours into?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for new PC game recommendations because I really want something I can properly get invested in and sink hundreds of hours into that's different from the list of games I seem to just create new saves on..
I love solo games that focus on planning, decision-making, and progression. I really enjoy slower-paced, relaxing gameplay where I can build, customise, organise, upgrade, and create something that feels grand, personal, and long-lasting.
Games I’ve played, replayed, and absolutely loved:
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Disney Dreamlight Valley
- Stardew Valley
- Dragon Age: The Veilguard
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Life is Strange
- Prey
- Literally all of The Sims franchise
What I seem to love most is:
- cosy/life-sim elements
- character creation or customisation
- decorating, collecting, building, farming, crafting, or upgrading
- strong story and emotional investment
- immersive worlds I can get lost in
- exploration and discovery
- power progression
- games with lots to do long-term
- a sense of progression or “just one more day/quest” addiction
I’m not really looking for anything brutally difficult or purely combat-focused. I don’t mind combat at all, but I need more than just fighting. I like story, world-building, characters, collecting, customisation, or some kind of cosy/progression loop.
Only looking for PC games, please.
What would you recommend for someone with this taste? I’d especially love suggestions that genuinely have that “this could become my new obsession” feeling and no other games have hooked me recently but I needa new game desperately.
