This appears on the title page of the 1905 Constantinople reprint of this Ladino bible but not on the 1873 original. We suspect it is an Ottoman Turkish publisher's note. Can anyone provide a transcription and translation? Our best guess using AI is dates:

  • ١٤٩٦ = 1496 (Islamic/Hijri year)
  • ١٣٢٣ = 1323 (another Hijri year)
  • ١٨٧٣ appears in Western numerals in the Hebrew title page, but in the Ottoman note I believe I see 1323 AH, which corresponds to 1905 CE.
  • And possibly something like: This work was originally printed in the year 1290/1873 and has been reprinted in the year 1323/1905..." THe first image is the full title page, the second is a blowup of the section in question for visibility.
