I just realized my birthday is a historic hip-hop day.

ICYMI: Ma$e, Cam & LOX show at The Apollo in 2023

In case you missed it … The LOX, Ma$e, and Camron did a show together at The Apollo in 2023 and performed all the HITS, some Clue tape freestyles (🔥🔥⚰️), and all the 🔥 posse cuts from that era. SHIT IS EPIC.

Cam and Ma$e performed Horse & Carriage for the first time ever (for those who don’t know: their beef started over this song so between them recording it and the music video, they were basically enemies for the next 20 years)

Kiss and Mase both did their Who Shot Ya freestyles
Mase & the Lox did If You Want It freestyle
They had Herb McGruff come out for Reppin Uptown…

Hot Take: Reservoir Dogs

I think Sauce Money got everybody else on Reservoir Dogs. He had the schemes and wordplay and hardest raps.

Styles P is the close runner up though because he was goin at Hov on his own song. He didn’t have a ton of wordplay or metaphors… just blunt “fuck you” raps which I also love.

Hov did have the best flow … the pockets he was hitting were fire but substantively… he got got.

Beans explained how to take over an entire town in the crack era in like 2 bars though, that was hard.

What y’all think?

AITA: Sauce Money took Reservoir Dogs; Bleek took You, Me, Him, and Her

Been bumpin hella Dynasty Roc La Familia and best posse cuts lately — N*ggas Done Started Somethin, Banned From TV, 24 Hours to Live, Reservoir Dogs, etc.

I gotta be honest … I think Bleek got Hov AND Beans on You Me Him and Her. (And Amil, duh). The intensity in his voice + how young he sounds on it… then his flows, word choices, performance of them… he didn’t waste a single bar until “the hoes they email us”💀

And I think Sauce Money got everybody on Reservoir Dogs, in terms of his lyrical schemes, brashness, and originality.
- However - I think Styles P is neck and neck for this. Sauce was more metaphors, imagery, similes, and original schemes. SP’s verse is just clear, aggressive, and there are a couple lines he didn’t need. Sauce’s whole delivery was just a little tighter and more intriguing.

Am I the asshole? 🤣🤣

Backstage tour doc: Dame & Clue’s Hair 💀💀💀🤣🤣

Dame talkin shit to Clue about his hair, and you think he’s surely exaggerating. And then the camera cuts to Clue, it’s worse than I remember every time I watch.
