Not my intention to be the bearer of such news again. But saw this on my feed.
Since many concurrent tournaments have been taking place around the same time, I’ve noticed that there diff major Kyokushin organizations have now quite distinct fighting styles.
WKO Shinkyokushin - Tsukamoto’s personal fighting style and his dojo has become dominant. More acrobatic and rolling kicks and dogi coming out. Fast rate punch and kicks.
IKO1 - Slightly slower rate and pace of exchange, with heavier blows and still quite traditional.
The European and KWU are also very different.
Wonder if others have observed it or have more insights too?
Kuristina’s post led me to do a bit of digging in my free time and was surprised to see this guy Misiak Maciej, a guy barely in his 40s walking around with 10 Dan stripes on his belt. IKO Sosai clarified that he was never awarded Nidan, and he also has not shown his Dan certificates thus far. From videos of kata that he performed, and his techniques this guy is clearly a charlatan. His Facebook posts are also ChatGPT scripted and hyping the organizations and events under his group - Kyodokyokushin.
He attended KWU Senshi events and event was pictured with Ryu Narushima, who left IKO1 as a Godan, and was awarded Rokudan by KWU Senshi.
Midori, Matsui are 8 Dan; Hatsuo Royama was given 10 Dan.
Know that folks here just want to train and aren’t interested in politics, but it might be necessary to be aware of imposters and cosplayers in the community.
