Invading
When should you invade as a jungler?
I understand the usual rule: if the enemy jungler shows on one side of the map, you can look to invade the opposite side and take camps.
But how does this apply against scaling junglers like Nasus or Master Yi? Should I be invading more aggressively to slow down or delay their scaling into the mid/late game, and if so, how do I do that without ruining my own tempo?
I saw a guide saying that level 1 cheese invades are usually bad because they are coinflip, and if you are the better jungler, they are almost never worth it. The same guide also said invading before two full clears is usually not worth it because you lose tempo and your own camps become underleveled.
Are these statements generally true, or are they more situational? How should I think about invading early against scaling junglers?
Also, let’s say I’m playing a champion like Viego. Should I still be looking to invade scaling junglers like Yi/Nasus, or is it better to just play my own game and bide my time, since Viego also scales pretty well?
