Minor spoiler re: C.o.Strife themes and characters

One of the things that's so great about this book is that the politics are so contemporary. There are multiple, literal references to our current universe and some characters that are clearly representative of certain world leaders and trillionaires (a word autocorrect doesn't yet recognise).

I'm still reading so no spoilers in replies or comments please!!! Maybe I'll just come back later.

Hi all - just wondering how you can tell if a Pacific Black Duck is cross-bred with a Mallard? PBD is my own very amateur ID so feel free to correct if I've not got my ducks in a row (I tried). Ipswich QLD backyard pond.
