Pictures?
I’m about to commission a friend to paint either bleach a shirt of the JD’s. First one is Simon Gordon then I’m going down the list. If yall have some good pictures of him or any of the other JD’s it’d be much appreciated!

Hey guys, I have a rarer form of OCD that makes me pick at my hands. It’s really bad to the point where my lateral nail folds are so gone some of my nails are just flat. I was wondering if anyone has been in this situation or if anyone has a lot of experience if they could tell me if my skin will grow back? I don’t want to put pictures in here in case it triggers anyone.
I want to preface this by saying in no way am I a musical theatre person. I’ve never seen a show in real life, never been someone who’s super into that, not a good singer, awful dancer, I get nervous talking to like a group of five.
With that being said, I’m super curious on why people don’t like the proshot? I get that the cuts can be jarring but (and this may be because I haven’t been to a show) it didn’t bother me as much. The only point where it was somewhat annoying was when a scene was clearly revolving around one character and they still cut to the character talking or when the audience was shown and even then it wasn’t that big of a deal to me as much as people despise it to be so.
As far as I can see (and again I understand some of my assumptions may be wrong) they are all really great singers and actors. I loved Ailsa voice, actually really liked her in “I say No” which I’ve seen some people really dislike, and Simon was just phenomenal to me. I love how animated he was and it felt like acting without going over the top. I do get that part of theater is being exaggerated but it’s not that. I love the exaggeration but didn’t like Casey’s version of “Veronica Sawyer” as much because it reminded me too much of the 2020 TikTok acting. I thought that they did a great job with the accents too, could not tell they weren’t American as someone born and raised here.
One of the things I do understand and slightly agree with is the monotone bits of Simon’s singing but I listened to Ryan’s version on Spotify and it and even less emotion? Like Simon is able to express emotion well with his speaking voice and so he didn’t sing parts with emotion during “Meant to be Yours” where Ryan sang the whole time. I can also see how some people dislike Ailsa’s expressions for being wooden at points but I don’t get how the parts where she’s expressive are also overlooked?
The other thing I see very often is that Simon playing JD too soft with people preferring a more sly/manipulative JD. That’s fine? It’s the actor’s interpretation? I don’t see why there can’t be a different side of the character? Is it a preference to see the movie accurately depicted or just people growing attached to the idea of an edgier version?
I guess what I’m trying to get at is why is the proshot so heavily disliked when the critiques that people have are also present in the other recordings? I am basing this off the Spotify and proshot recordings as a)I haven’t seen either live and b) it seemed fairest to compare 2 digital versions. I also don’t get why not liking how a character is portrayed justifies the levels of hate that the proshot gets. I mentioned there are some actors whose interpretation I don’t like but I don’t go hate on them. I haven’t seen any other version get this much passionate dislike and was wondering what the reason was. To be clear, I am not saying that you cannot dislike this version, just curious as to what warranted such a level. Is one of the actors like a bad person? Is there some theatre lore I’m missing here? I really want to know, I just got here, just trying to figure anything out.
I’m also sorry if you like Casey, I actually do like his overall portrayal, it was just an example.
