Lmk what u think
He teased the end of The Weeknd 15 years ago
Obviously he may not have been literally saying it this way which is why it’s a theory, but on Rolling Stone, Abel sings “I got you until you’re used to my face and my mystery fades.” He’s clearly talking about a girl but I think you could also argue that he is talking about his career and his story. It’s cool to think that what he means by being “used to his face” and when his “mystery fades” he is saying that once us as the listeners learn fully about The Weeknd character, that is when he will leave, no longer “having us.” In Hurry Up Tomorrow, he finally leaves his toxicity behind and moves on, which is his mystery fading. And by the time Hurry Up Tomorrow was out, we were all used to his face. I think it is so cool how there has always been this story with the character The Weeknd and he said all those years ago how he would be gone once we finally knew him truly and now he is moving on as just Abel (or whatever his new stage name may be) and now we are finally at that point.
