Where to stay for 23 hr layover

We will be arriving in Jakarta CGK from Sorong around 10am and our international flight out is the next day at 9:30am. Debating whether to stay in PIK for the night or if it's worth staying more central where there are more hotel options.

I'm specifically wondering if we could stay at the mandarin oriental and not feel stressed the next morning when going to the airport. We’ll be coming from raja ampat, so we'll have a time difference working in our favor, and I don't think it will be a problem for us to head to the airport at 6am. Will there be lots of traffic at 6am?

Our priority for this 1 night stopover is a nice hotel with a nice pool, food, service, etc., and less about seeing the sights. Easy logistics are also a priority. Which is also why I'm wondering if we should just stay in PIK and be closer to the airport.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Hotel rec for family visiting Singapore

We're going to have 2 nights in Singapore on our way home, after 9 nights in Raja Ampat. I'm looking for a recommendation for a hotel that has exceptional service and a nice pool. We're not really looking to see Singapore during this stopover, as this is really just to help us decompress a bit after lots of snorkel adventuring. So the main priority is a nice hotel experience, though, ideally a place that feels somewhat unique to Singapore (ie not a generic nice hotel).

This travel is in April 2027, and it's going to be me, my husband, and our 8 year old child, so we would prefer a place that has rooms with at least double queens. I was looking at the themed family rooms at Shangri-La Singapore, and they're fine budget-wise, but a bit over the top. But that gives you a sense of our preferred bedding (King bed for us and a separate bed for our kid). Thanks for any thoughts!

Flights to/from raja ampat

Flight schedule to/from Raja Ampat

I am looking for input from folks who have been to raja ampat on my flights before I book them. Trying to minimize risk while also minimizing dead days.

We're going to be Cove Eco Resort April 17-26.

For whatever reason, I can't seem to book Singapore Air and Garuda on one itinerary (even though they're both sky alliance), so I 'd (Edited: SA is Sky Alliance and Garuda is Skyteam, so I will have to book on separate itineraries.)

I have two itineraries:

  • Itinerary A (Singapore Air): JFK -> CGK -> SIN -> JFK
  • Itinerary B (Garuda): CGK -> SOQ -> CGK

Our flight dates are:

  • Going:
    • JFK -> CGK (Singapore Air):
      • Arriving CGK April 15 11am
    • CGK -> SOQ (Garuda):
      • Departing CGK April 16 00:12am and arriving SOQ 6am
    • We meet with our transfer April 17 8am
  • Returning:
    • SOQ -> CGK (Garuda):
      • Departing SOQ April 27 8am and arriving CGK 10am
    • CGK -> SIN (Singapore Air):
      • Departing CGK April 27 5pm or 6pm
    • SIN -> JFK (Singapore Air)
      • Departing SIN April 30

The part I'm most uncertain about is if we can do SOQ -> CGK -> SIN in one day. I would be less worried if it was all on one itinerary. But maybe I purchase the CGK -> SIN on fare that has no charges for flight changes.

Thanks for any thoughts!
