UPGRADE TIME!!!

After finding at a yard sale for $30 I have now dumped close to $200 into it. Was it worth it? Probably not, but it is a damn good city/light trail bike.

Upgrades: (so far 🤣)

Stem (amazon funn)

Bars (amazon bucklos)

Bull horns (specialized)

Lights (amazon ridetech)

Twist Shifters (amazon bucklos)

Grips (LBS ODI Trimable)

Brake rotors (amazon bucklos)

Brake calipers (Hayes Mechanical)

Tires (amazon 29x2.4 gravel tires)

Oh and a dollar store bike bell 🤣

Going to still want to swap cranks for a nicer 3x or 2x system and upgrade rear cassette/derailleur for a 9 or 10 speed. Currently a 3x8 what would y'all recommend? Not building a bomber, just a nice commuter/gravel rig.

NBD!

Gotta love garage sales! Not a bad pick for 30 bucks, needs minor derailleur indexing, and some fresh rubber. But all in all my kid is gonna love it!

Hardtail Thursday

Made another secuessful run up sandy ridge and I think it may be my new go to. Today's loop was mostly blue with 338, flow motion, lower hide and seek, luaras line, a rip on little monkey, lower hide and seek again, and ended with some parking lot pump action and skill line.

Sucess!!!

After about 8 months I have finally convinced my kiddo to hit the trails with me! Went out for the first time about a month ago to a dj/ pump track close to me and she had good flow (cruized a bmx for the last 4 years) she gets the concept of pumping and rolling. Kiddo is 11yo and 5'2" and handled my med frame co op drt like a boss! So yesterday I asked her if she was ready to make the switch and she said yes! My little riding buddy! Sorry for the random post but this feels like a big win for me especially with summer coming! So now it looks like I owe her a nice hardtail. She is confident (miniscule wobble) on 27.5, so now starts the search. Any recommendations? I have a roscoe 7 gen 4 and a mongoose switchback pro my self (big price/stock component gap) but I want whatever I get her to handle being dumped if she has to.

Just saw this on FB

I haven't seen or heard anything regarding Crack down on emoto. But here is this for the ebike crowd.

Sandy Ridge?

Has anybody in this sub rode at sandy ridge? And if so, what would be good trails for a couple of "ok" mtb'ers to run? I have posted in here in the past looking for recommendations for beginner trails and feel like im ready to "level up".

Sizing ?'s

So... kid and I hit some easy adjacent trails above estacada today and I ate mad s**t. No damaged or broken components. So my question here is my current bike (custom built mongoose switchback comp) is a large frame and I feel like I have to "reach" for the bars when sitting. My other bike, (co op drt 1.1 also a custom build) is a med frame and it feels to small. I stand at about 5'8". Mongoose website said my large frame is for 5'8" to 6'. Co op says my med is for 5'6" to 5"10. How do I fit my bike, and feel like I have control when doing easy to moderate bombing runs?

Is it overforked?

Is it considered overforked if stock travel was 40mm on shitty coil forks? Its running a 100mm suntour air fork now...
