Is a LIS Diploma enough to get a job in the GLAM industry in Canada?

Hello everyone, I am currently accepted to a LIS Program here in Canada starting in the fall through Ontario Learn (online & part-time education), but it seems that the bare minimum required to work in archives in the gallery/library/archives/museum world is a BFA.

I unfortunately do not have the resources to pursue a BFA or an MFA, though I am an amateur photographer who has been exhibited in a local museum and won a grant for my photography, and my goal would be to work with photo archives.

I am leary that a LIS diploma won’t be enough to get me the opportunities I would like to have access to down the road.

Any advice on or about what is possible with a LIS diploma would be greatly appreiated. I don’t want to spend a lot of money over the next couple of years on a diploma that won’t serve my goals.

Thank you.

Polaroid PDC 2030

Early 2000s model: Editing done in Snapseed.

I particularly like that the lens and sensor can't handle shooting into the sun, and that I ended up with a highlight burn from the center of the sun in the photographs.

Hi everyone, I have a commerical ink jet photo printer that doesn't work with ICC profiles, and a laser jet printer at home that I use to print photos for personal use.

I get desirable results from my ink jet printer by printing from Lightroom or using the Canon Print app, my prints match closely with my monitor, and I only struggle with my black and white prints being on the cooler side, which isn't a big deal honestly (I just prefer warmer monochrome images).

My laser printer though prints images on the darker/muddier side, which I know is due to the medium of laser prints and their limitations, but I am wondering if there is a way I could print and scan tonal chart, and run it through a software to get a tone curve specific to my printer and the paper I am printing on to eliminate the guess work of playing around with the curves tool and doing multiple tests to get a decent result.

I am not familiar with any of the correct languge to describe what I am asking for assistance with so if you end up understanding what I am trying to communicate, don't be shy to introduce to me to the proper terms.

Thank you!
