Insane Results out of Lilly’s Phase 1B Tirzepatide + Eloralintide Trial

Lilly has released preliminary Phase 1B data (via an abstract for EASD 2026) for Eloralintide + Tirzepatide. Big dropouts, probably due to the excessive pace, but also they may need to find the right titration schedule

▪️20.5% WL at 16 weeks on Tirzepatide 5mg + Elora 9mg (Study A cohort - 65% female)

▪️29% WL at 32 weeks on Tirzepatide 15mg +Elora 9mg (Study A cohort - 65% female)

▪️25.5% WL at 24 weeks on Tirzepatide 15mg + Elora 9mg in a cohort that was 75% male (Study B)

Reminder for those Looking to Gain Coverage via Medicare Bridge program

CMS has released a fact sheet for providers in preparation for the Bridge program starting July 1, 2026 (next week!).

Three important pieces of info from the sheet:

  1. Prescribers should direct the pharmacist to send the claim to the Bridge program (rather than the patient’s Medicare Part D plan). They can do so by including an obesity diagnosis code (the E66 family) and indicating SEND TO BRIDGE FOR WEIGHT MANAGEMENT" on the prescription in the Note field if electronic, or as an annotation if non-electronic.

  2. The Zepbound KwikPens are the only Zep product supported (not the single use pens or the vials).

  3. If your GLP-1 script is already covered under your Part D plan, you will not be eligible for Bridge. That may seem like a bummer, but the Part D deductible should still kick in once $2100 has been spent on your program. (Also worth noting that Bridge coverage for GLP-1s does not count toward the deductible.)

Going in with this info may help you to avoid a rejection that comes because the wrong version of the med was prescribed or the claim was submitted to the wrong program.

Good luck Medicare folks! Go get ‘em!
