New to writing kinda

I have always been a storyteller, whether it was around campfires, replaying games, or just making up stories. During COVID, I had some extra downtime and started writing the beginning of a book.
I have let a few friends read it, and they all think it has promise. One suggested that I use AI to help edit it. They also think it might work better if it was split into three shorter books.
While I enjoy using AI, I don’t want it to take away my voice or make the story sound like it was written by AI. How would you recommend I approach this?

Reference books for scouts?

Would a kindle basic be good to hold reference books on? I have about 4 rule books for scouts. Would this be ok to transfer from one to the other on the fly?
