I bought a topdon topscan pro which can learn new keys. I started the procedure which erases all known keys then you relearn your new keys one at a time by inserting them into the key slot on the dash. Well the security light is supposed to blink when you power on the car during the learning procedure and it's not blinking and not learning any keys. I tried a used key slot from ebay already, neither key slot lights up like it should. I did read that it could be a problem with the steering wheel lock, the steering wheel is not locked at all. I tried "unlocking" it from the scanner and it just says unlocking failed, so I wonder if a previous owner bypassed the steering wheel lock as they commonly fail in the locked position. As of right now the car can turn on with a keyfob inserted in the slot but not start. Any help would be appreciated.
