I'm self employed in Italy and just quit my old job. My US taxes is a headache

I'm a US citizen and I have been living in Italy for a few years. I recently resigned from a job where I paid Italian taxes. Now I am self employed and I have no idea how to handle my US tax situation. I know I need to file US taxes on worldwide income but I am not sure how the Italian taxes I already paid factor in.

I am also confused about self employment tax and whether I need to make estimated payments to the IRS. Has anyone here been through this transition from employee to self employed abroad.

I reached out to Universal Tax Professionals. They specialize in US expat taxes and helped me understand how to claim the Foreign Tax Credit for the Italian taxes I paid, but still looking for more advices, thanks!

Every time it rains my patio turns into a slip hazard and i'm over it

Hi community We have a tiled outdoor area right next to the pool and every time it rains the tiles become terrifying to walk on. My kids run around back there constantly and I feel like I am just waiting for someone to crack their head open. Replacing the tiles would cost thousands and take weeks so that is not happening.

I have been weighing up a few different options. Anti slip tape is cheap but it looks terrible and peels off in the sun. Etching the tiles might work but I am worried about weakening the surface. Some coatings I saw online apparently make the tiles look cloudy or yellow over time. I need something that stays clear and lasts outdoors.

Half my team is in office, half is at home

I run a small marketing agency with eight people. Four come into the office. Four work from home. I have no reliable way to know who started work on time and who took a long lunch. I am not trying to spy on anyone. I just need to know if someone is consistently late so I can have a conversation.

I tried a shared Google Sheet but people forget to fill it out. I tried a Slack check in but that got ignored after a week. Has anyone found a lightweight tool that just shows me clock in and out times without being intrusive.
