Career choices

Hey everyone! I’m looking for some advice from those of you already in the aviation industry.
I’ve spent the last five years working in construction, excavation, and trucking, with the last couple of years primarily hauling heavy equipment on a lowboy. I enjoy what I do, but I’ve always had a strong interest in aviation and feel like it’s where I’d eventually like to build a career.
I grew up with my dad being a private pilot, so airplanes have always been a part of my life. Flying and aircraft sales are two paths that really interest me, but I’m open to hearing about other opportunities in the industry as well.
Like a lot of people, I have a family to support, so quitting my job and starting over isn’t really an option. I’m looking for ideas on how I could gradually transition into aviation over the next few years while continuing to provide for my family.
If you’ve made a similar career change, or have any advice on getting a foot in the door, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience. Thanks in advance!
