Anyone here recently hired off 769 groundman books? Just curious where in the state people are working rn

I’m torn between applying to SWLcat for lineman or Subtech I’m leaning towards subtech but I know they hire much less subtechs for the apprenticeship than lineman my question is how can I better my chances of being accepted into the subtech apprenticeship any advice is helpful thank you in advance !

Is all the rumors true that they aren’t hiring on new substation apprentices in Arizona right now?

I’m from Phx I signed the groundman book 4 at the local 769 here but it’s looking like it’ll be a very long wait I’m thinking about going to the 611 in NM to sign I have no experience I only have my CDL no restrictions any advice would be helpful also how much money should I save before I can afford to take a call away from home I don’t have a van or 5th wheel like a lot of other guys sorry if this is all a dumb question I appreciate all advice
