Look up, look way up! The Superstack keeps coming down - Northern Ontario Business

I just came across this article about the current removal of the Superstack, and was thrown off by their goals of hiw much they want to remove this year.

As someone that spent over a decade keeping that thing together while it was needed.

I find this year's goal to remove over 280' unrealistic to last year's 105' of stack removal.

The reason is because the concrete gets thicker as you come down.

The top 105' is the thinnest. And while there are some hollow points in the stack above 900' from the ground that were never fixed during my tenure even though we pushed to get them fixed.

Unless I'm unaware of some new equipment that will go through concrete faster even though it's thicker. I believe their goal of removal this year is unrealistic.
