I'm an Indian guy. I've been listening to Hip Hop for a year now. I mostly listen to 90s & 00s rap. The artists I admire are 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube etc.

While I do enjoy the music and their flow I noticed that a lot of their lyrics tend to use misogynistic slurs for women.

I don't enjoy contemporary rap and I tend to enjoy the music and flow of the 90s and 00s but at the same time I keep thinking if it's even fine to enjoy it despite its problematic view of women and homosexuals.

Would love to know what y'all think about it.

I'm working on a novel where one of my characters is a Dalit from Gujarat who's passing as a Savarna in Mumbai.

Looking for help with authentic details like day-to-day experiences, code-switching, fear of being "found out", etc.
