Annoyed at Dalinar/Alethi (Words of Radiance rant)
Ok so I just got past the meeting between Adolin and the Parshendi and have to say I’m a little annoyed at the “master plan” Dalinar has concocted. I’m obviously going to keep reading to see how it plays out, but come on! The leader you’re meeting with tells you that they now only care about winning the war and killing your army, no more games, and your response is to appeal to the high prince’s sense of duty…then march out to meet the enemy regardless of who joins you??
I understand all the high princes are selfish, egotistical bastards, but it just pisses me off that this wouldn’t be a unifying call to end the war then let the high princes hunt and fuck around as much as they please. Honestly the only justification I can think of for Dalinar’s line of thought is that Sadeas would flip the script and accuse Dalinar of being in cahoots with the Parshendi to lead them all into a trap. Even then, I can’t see half the high princes even buying that, not including the other light eye nobles in the war camps.
Also giving more of the shard bearers a spanking and taking their shards would only reinforce Sadeas’s point and leave the other light eyes in a position to not want to help the lord with the most shards. All in all it just seems like a truly not well thought out plan that is charging full steam ahead towards disaster
