Hi posted this in r/cats and was told yall here would like it

Working on my world map. And after DMing for years, I've decided to make a proper full flushed out world. I have a party that wants to go LVL3-20. Thankfully its the wife and kids, so this is possible and im super excited. I used the rice method, and made a 1inch grid to help me mentally know time frame for travel. Now, what natural terrain should I use? I know i want mountains, hills, forest, swamps and grassland. But could I fit a desert in this world? Is it worth adding and artic section. Should I have multiples of the different terrains.

Ive watched a few different videos, I've looked at all fantasy maps of worlds I enjoyed (dragon age, Skyrim, ect) but am worried the world would look odd if I do to much. Pic of world map if anyone wanta to draw what they think would be cool, never know i may borrow it.

Also, things like an ancient forest, volcanos, seer Hill drops into the ocean, how would you draw that so ita clear what it is, im not very artistic, and want a few key natural things like that but have no idea how I could make it clear at a fast look.
