Sorry if this is a depressing post, but I don’t have anyone else to discuss it with. With the rumors about Daisy Ridley dropping out of a recent project/the casting call for one she’s starting soon that people think is Star Wars, if it’s true, then I’m guessing Ben isn’t coming back. Adam Driver’s schedule is pretty booked and given Soderbergh’s comments I’m not sure what to think anymore even though he doesn’t own the script.
I hate the thought of Rey existing without Ben (especially given the novelization of TROS where she felt carved out and broken when she couldn’t feel him 😭😩) given the dyad and how little we saw of Ben, and I’m bummed out. 2026 has been weirdly rough and I hoped THFBS would be addressed somehow like the perfect pick me up, but it feels like Disney is just quietly trying to move on in general, especially after no announcements for anything in general May 4th.
