Just a Rant Out of Pure Frustration
The theater crowd has officially ruined the cinema experience for me.
Today I went to watch Awarapan 2 at JV Cinemas. First of all, the theater itself is subpar and poor quality, but that wasn't even my main issue. The absolute elephant in the room was the "CROWD."
Due to a technical glitch, the screen went blank for about 5 minutes. From the very first second, people started shouting, hurling vile swears and abuses like they’d been waiting for an hour, and passing all sorts of cheap comments. To make it worse, the group of people sitting right next to us was completely mannerless. They were talking loudly, shaking the entire row of seats (which kept moving my own seat), putting their feet on the headrests in front of them, and repeatedly hitting my legs with his shoes. But the absolute worst part? They were literally spitting on the floor behind the seats. I was disgusted. 😭
To top it all off, an unc in the row right in front of us was casually watching Instagram reels on full volume without headphones.
Honestly, I am done. I am never going to watch a mainstream movie in Mathura ever again. I am so tired of dealing with this type of crowd again and again. It was a below-average movie, a pathetic theater, and an extremely unbearable crowd. Just pure torture after torture during an experience that is supposed to be relaxing, comforting, and joyous.
I only went to watch this movie because of the intense nostalgia attached to the original. To this day, the songs still give me absolute goosebumps (even the remakes had me so excited). I went in looking for comfort, wanting to relive those beautiful memories on the big screen. Instead, the entire experience was so toxic and filthy that it completely ruined the magic for me. I never could have imagined that a film I loved so much would end up leaving me with nothing but regret and disgust. It’s just devastating 💔
*End of rant. Has anyone else completely given up on public theaters because of this?
