Let's Encrypt DNS challenge

Hello, I am trying to use reverse proxy feature on hEX and came accross issue.

https://youtu.be/4X_VDIonNQo?list=PLXr-HoBo2VtWxRvUmBH0eFrLzK5ODkYED&t=96

According to abovr release note video, I should be able to get Let's Encrypt certificate via dns challenge.

But when i try to add ACME setting it errors out

acme cert 0x2 error: received invalid challenge json response from server

is there some argument or setting i have to provide to use DNS challenge?

IKEA website weirdness

I really hope I am just overreacting and causing unneccessary ruckus by not being patient.
But is this normal????

IKEA in our region(South Korea) just listed online TIMMERFLOTTE as new and discontinued.

As far as i know TIMMERFLOTTE never was on the website for our region.

From the list of new Matter over Thread devices only TIMMERFLOTTE and ALPSTUGA were not released nor listed on the website. With ALPSTUGA still nowhere to be seen.

Other new smart home stuff are listed and sold with few of them out of stock as of right now.

So I called their support yesterday and support person told me that as far as they can check it is indeed marked discontinued and there are no stock inbound nor in any warehouses.

Is this just them signaling that they won't sell this in the region?

Did any other product have this kind of processing?

this is the TIMMERFLOTTE page: https://www.ikea.com/kr/en/p/timmerflotte-temperature-humidity-sensor-smart-00618950/
for comparison this is currently out of stock MYGGSPRAY page: https://www.ikea.com/kr/en/p/myggspray-wireless-motion-sensor-smart-00619450/

Isolated IPv6??

Hello,

I currently have Mikrotik hEX connected to ISP modem to act as main firewall.

Since hEX does not have WIFI, I added another OpenWRT wifi router in AP mode to create WIFI, while doing so i seperated the subnet for WIFI and the rest.

I disabled IPv6 on hEX since my ISP does not provide any IPv6 functionality, but left the IPv6 settings default on OpenWRT which seems to allow wifi devices to assign themselves IPv6 address. This situation is somewhat desirable? since I do have Matter over Thread iot devices running and those require IPv6

Now for my questions:

  1. is it safe to assume that wifi devices that have IPv6 addresses are "isolated" and "local only"? since hEX is not routing any IPv6 there should not be any concern of outside direct access to devices with IPv6?

  2. I left the default firewall for IPv6 on hEX alone and it has some rules in it without any traffic logged. I am guessing that is expected outcome since every device that has IPv6 is only "talking" and visible to each other on OpenWRT side?

My local ikea recently stocked the new smart plugs Grillsplats. Since the price is amazing I am looking into expanding my current setup with these new plugs.

However due to lack of Thread border routers in my current setup I am also thinking about getting Dirigera as a Thread Border Router. and I have few questions.

  1. Can dirigera Hub be set to Radio only mode? Since I will be using HA as the "brains", all i need from dirigera hub is Matter over thread connectivity. I also looked into Home assistant connect ZBT-2 and it basically cost the same or more than Dirigera at least in my region.

  2. Is IKEA App mandatory for dirigera operation? Can i ditch the app once setup is done? I would really prefer to not add another app to control the system

  3. Can the matter devices from IKEA be firmware updated with HA without using the app? TPlink devices require tp link app to update the firmware so i was wondering if the ikea ones are the same or not

  4. How local can Dirigera be? Can i run it in isolated network without internet? If Ikea system does not mind being run without internet, I can just create a seperate environment for ikea stuff and use the app if all else fails. I do not really need remote access since I am home bound most of the time anyways.
