In Elise’s harvard graduation speech, she mentions her father left Vietnam in 1993. Yet, in her Stanford essay on “what historical moment or event do you wish you could have witnessed”, she states “I’d like to see my father’s boat escape in 1975, as he watches the Vietnam coastline disappear into the horizon, leaving his family’s 20. square foot grass hut for a future of freedom..”

So which one is it?
