Navigating casual & respect/consideration

I’m 25F, in a transition phase of my life right now where I will be moving countries in the fall, and so I’m wanting a casual summer fling. I’ve been regularly having sex with a guy I met on Hinge last month. I made it clear from date 3 when things got steamy that I am preferring primarily a sexual causal relationship, he agreed, and now we see eachother 1-2 times a week to mostly get into bed, sometimes we share a smoke, and watch a bit of tv in between. Sometimes we both would propose a last minute later in the day plan, and he has now twice rain checked citing some lame excuse, and then never bothered to reschedule, only to disappear for hours later without a response. Now, with casual, I don’t expect nor want consistent communication, I also don’t message him for days, but that is in between plans, or as a break from the last time we saw each other. It’s fine to cancel but I think there is a way to do that respectfully, and to just be honest and not cite lame excuses, and to ensure to reschedule.

For the past week I’ve been having a pregnancy scare and it’s put me on edge, stressed, with mood swings. To distract myself, I wanted to see him last night, he first said he’d come but then rain checked with some stomachache excuse and then stopped responding. This bothered me.. I thought he would have cared a bit more about my feelings, knowing that I’m already going thru something, and maybe at least offered to come with me to pickup a pregnancy test, or try to reschedule to see me again without just rain checking and dipping.

Am I wanting too much? I don’t even like these men romantically anymore, I just want to be having casual sex, BUT with someone that considers my feelings about certain things, as I would for them too.

I feel like with alot of guys, once a woman is open with doing casual they cease all effort and decency because they think that would make it romantic- but I am not romantically interested either, I just want to have sex WITH someone who respects my time, is honest about cancelling without citing obvious excuses, etc. this makes me feel like some free hook up, when I can do casual, but also even if it’s casual that doesn’t mean that someone is just a piece of meat to me, I would treat them the way I’d treat a friend (ask about their life, have fun, etc.)

Study Visa funds - YVR, Canada

Hi everyone, I could really use some advice on how to navigate a tricky situation. For reference I am Canadian. Prior to the Italian Ministry’s recent increase on funds for international students, I was prepared to meet the funding requirements for my visa interview on June 9. Now due to the €10K jump, that is almost $16K in Canadian dollars for me, and I am a few thousands off. After inquiring with the Italian Consulate of Vancouver, they are still awaiting instructions from the Ministry themselves and cannot provide a confirmation on which funding requirement I should follow (between the old 6K and new 10K). A parents is prepared to gift me $5K, but this would require me to produce an affidavit of financial support, and to in-person authenticate/legalize my SRI LANKAN birth certificate at the ITALIAN EMBASSY OF COLOMBO to prove parental relationship before my visa appointment in Vancouver, Canada.

I’m not sure what to do. From now and the appointment I could either deposit small funds into my account as I continue to gather my savings for the appointment, or I thought to submit the full deposit from my parent, and provide their ID, and a notarized signature in the meantime (without my birth certificate being legalized).
I can’t go to Sri Lanka right now, 1, it is too expensive, and, 2, there is no timeline for the process in Colombo, and my appointment is fast approaching.

As an alternative, I just had my MAECI scholarship interview today and I think it went well. IF they confirm I receive the scholarship by June 8, then my plan is to present this for the visa. Alternatively, Canadian student loan applications also open in June 2026 (no specified date) so I was going to just show a printed screenshot of my Italian university’s eligibility for student loans, and apply once it opens as plan B.

I am applying for a study visa for Italy and I am Canadian. Due to the recent increase in funds for international students, I am struggling to come up with some money in order to not appear too suspicious for my visa interview in June. The former fund requirements were around €6000 (around $11K). By my appointment, I would’ve gathered about $13K. I I’m going to show them my savings account where I have been transferring money from paycheques, selling some items that I own, and also asking family and friends to repay me back for the loans I’ve given in the past. Now that the funding requirement has increased to about $16K (€10,000), I need to come up with another $3000 to $5000 by June. I will be receiving about $5000 more from my mother as a gift for my education. I don’t want to add a lump sum to my account where it appears suspicious if I receive a huge amount right before my Visa appointment so my plan is to either receive it in installments or get it as cash and the deposited into my own account and tell the Visa officer that these were my savings by cash over many years and that I only added it to my account now because of the recent increase in international funding requirements for student. Do you think this is a good idea or should I just say that the $5K is a non repayable gift from my mother in light of the recent increase?
Should I write a statement briefly explaining how I’ve gathered the money for the appointment?

In addition, I plan to take out student loans in June, is it worth mentioning that too?

Please any advice is welcome!!

Hi, any Canadians here that are applying for a national study D visa? I have my visa appointment coming up, and I’m not sure whether the increase in funds to 10k € affects everyone (asap)?
My consulate’s website makes no note of the increase in funds. They are still set to the 6K limit.

I’ll have rounded up about 13K by the time of my visa, PLUS I plan to apply for Canadian student loans once applications open in June. 13K CAD obviously doesnt meet the new fund increase (approx. 16K CAD), and I’m starting to get worried.
