I’ve been experiencing strange things for years—could there be an explanation?

As far back as my early teens, when I was living in the Middle East, I’ve had experiences where I would hear movements, voices, or other sounds that nobody else seemed to hear. There were times when I couldn’t fall asleep in my room because I had this overwhelming feeling that I was being watched.

One experience in particular happened when I was in college. I was staying at a retreat house when I heard what sounded like a girl crying. I started praying to St. Benedict, and shortly afterward, the crying seemed to turn into laughter. What made the experience even more unsettling was finding out later that the retreat house had a reputation for being haunted.

Since then, I’ve always considered myself unusually hypervigilant. I tend to notice patterns in people and situations very quickly, often feeling like I’m several steps ahead of what’s happening. My wife even jokes that I have a strange habit of saying something is going to happen—and then it does.
Over the past few years, I’ve had several more experiences that I would describe as paranormal. Most of them involve hearing things, rather than actually seeing anything.

Something else that has become increasingly strange is my dreaming. I’ve been having extremely vivid dreams involving what feel like parallel timelines or alternate versions of reality. I remember many of these dreams in unusually clear detail, and sometimes I wake up feeling completely drained, almost as though I had actually experienced everything rather than simply dreamed it.

I’ve also experienced what I would describe as Mandela-effect-like moments, where I distinctly remember something being one way, only to discover that everyone else remembers it differently. I realize that memory can be unreliable, so I’m not necessarily claiming these are literally changes to reality—but the experiences have been strange enough to make me question them.
I also have a few friends who consider themselves spiritually gifted, and they’ve told me they think I might be as well, although I’ve never really known what to make of that.

Lately, I’ve had this persistent feeling that I should get a Tarot reading or some other kind of spiritual reading. About a year ago, I had a Reiki session, and the practitioner told me I was “walking on a spiral path” and was approaching the end of it.
My dreams have also become increasingly symbolic. I’ve dreamed about objects such as a stone seemingly reaching toward me, and about a tree covered in markings that seemed to be telling me to enter it to “awaken.” There have also been a few occasions where I dreamed about particular places or events, only for friends to later describe those same places or events to me.

Last night, something happened that stood out to me even more. Out of the blue, I mentally said, “spirit guides, make yourselves known to me.” Almost immediately after that, I fell asleep.
In the dream that followed, I saw a creature that reminded me of Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon, but it didn’t have wings. Instead, it had spikes along its back and head, and it was a yellow-orange color. I remember feeling uneasy when I saw it, and I think I either ran away from it or it ran away from me—I’m not entirely sure which.

I’m aware there could be psychological explanations for some or even all of this—pattern recognition, hypervigilance, vivid dreaming, false memories, coincidence, etc. I’m not trying to convince anyone that these experiences prove anything supernatural.
I’m genuinely curious, though: what do you think might be happening to me? Has anyone experienced something similar, particularly the combination of vivid dreams, unusual auditory experiences, strong intuition/pattern recognition, and seemingly coincidental dreams?

I’d especially appreciate perspectives from people who have experienced this themselves, whether you interpret it spiritually, psychologically, or somewhere in between.

Getting Featured in Official Pages

Honest question, how does one get featured on the 501st or SLD official page? I Recently have great photos of me and wife as Darth Vader and an Imperial Officer respectively during May the 4th and whenever I post on IG as always tag the detachments. Some of my co-Garrison members have been featured multiple times.

I just really take pride in my Darth Vader being that it has always been the costume I wanted to do as a member.

Appreciate any thoughts.

Thoughts on R1/Non Saga TK?

Hey guys! So the MTK armor I posted a few days wouldn't work as some of the pieces don't really fit me. Now I'm considering building an R1 TK from Jim. Wanna know your thoughts and appreciate any inputs from those who built Jim's kit.

My current struggle in Garrison

I’ve been struggling with whether to post this, but I guess I just need to get it off my chest.
I’ve been a member of the 501st for 10 years now (joined when I was 18), and it used to feel like a place where people came together because of a shared love for Star Wars, craftsmanship, charity, and community. Lately, though, it doesn’t feel that way anymore.

Instead, it feels like who you know matters more than what you contribute.

From where I’m standing, there’s a culture of gatekeeping. If you’re not part of the inner circle, if you’re not friends with certain officers, or if someone in a position of influence simply doesn’t like you or disagrees with you, it feels like you’re quietly pushed to the sidelines. You stop hearing about opportunities. Your contributions seem overlooked. It’s like you’re at the bottom of the priority list no matter how much time and effort you’ve given.

What makes this especially difficult for me is that I wasn’t always an outsider. I used to be close friends with one of the officers involved in the GEC, so I had a front-row seat to decisions and conversations that left me questioning whether everyone was being treated fairly. Because of that experience, it’s hard for me not to see similar patterns today, even though I recognize others may have had different experiences.

What frustrates me the most is that when the current Commanding Officer took over, I genuinely believed things were going to change. I thought this would be the opportunity to rebuild trust, encourage inclusivity, and move away from the cliquish culture that had been developing. Instead, from my perspective, that culture has been allowed to continue. Whether that’s intentional or simply tolerated, the end result feels the same.
And you can see the effect it’s having. More and more members seem to have lost the motivation to troop, attend events, or participate in the community. It’s sad because these are people who used to be excited to suit up and volunteer. Now, many seem to feel that their efforts don’t matter unless they’re part of the “right” circle.

I’m not saying everyone in the Legion is like this. There are genuinely amazing members who embody everything the organization stands for, and they’re the reason I’ve stayed as long as I have.
But it’s heartbreaking when an organization you once considered family starts feeling like an exclusive clique where relationships and personal preferences seem to carry more weight than fairness, transparency, and the shared passion that brought us all together.

Has anyone else experienced something similar in their garrison or club? How did you handle it? Did you stay and hope things improved, or did you eventually decide it was time to move on?

I’m honestly just trying to figure out whether this is something worth fighting for anymore or whether it’s time to accept that the group I fell in love with simply isn’t the same anymore.

Thoughts on a Trooperbay MTK kit?

Hi all! I have a friend and fellow member who wants to let go of his MTK ANH kit. It's fully assembled and seeing as we're roughly the same size, considering getting it. Thoughts?
