If John is trained by Cameron to master Channel Master, what level would he be at after weeks of training?
I think John’s level will improve to 8.3 immediately after finishing the training. In UnOrdinary, a level is determined by genetic potential and mastery. John already has the best genetic potential in the story, but he is self-taught, so there is a lack of mastery over his ability. Therefore, even if the increase is only 0.7 levels, John will be 100 times stronger than he is now, and he will no longer have weaknesses like he does currently.
Just a discussion for fun, what is Cameron’s level of ability? My personal estimate is exactly 9.0.
I think Cameron is one of the 9.0-level characters. Yes, he is weaker than Jane, but not by much in my opinion. Also, at such an extremely high level, every 0.1 makes a huge difference in power, so Jane is still significantly stronger than Cameron.
Interesting
Hello, honestly, today’s chapter was great as a setup for some exciting events to come.
First of all, Cassandra has gathered a reliable team around her, which is a healthy and useful step. I’m also very excited to uncover Orrin’s past. Personally, I’m leaning toward the idea that he was someone who was cast aside during a power struggle within the authorities’ system. I doubt he is a case like John, where he suffered mental abuse, or that his ability was simply delayed in manifesting, but I’m open to any scenario.
I also have to say that introducing Seraphina’s father was unexpected, and I really liked his design. Man, I can feel his intimidating presence even from where I am, and I’m leaning toward the idea that he might actually be stronger than Seraphina. However, I wonder whether he was blackmailed because his daughters were used as leverage to make him merge his company with NXGen, or whether he joined because of the benefits he expected to gain. I don’t know, but I’m leaning toward him being someone who will support Seraphina. Seraphina’s family may be harsh, but family is still family. I don’t think he would abandon his daughters; no human being would do that.
I also liked that John punched Cameron and Cameron didn’t retaliate either, choosing to simply ask for help. It was honestly funny. Cameron is capable of crushing John, but he didn’t. He’s someone who doesn’t know how to express himself, and I think this is probably the first time he has ever been punched in his life, except by Jane, of course.
Overall, I think John is open to asking Cameron for help, and I believe the training period will last somewhere between one and three months. After that, I expect John’s level to be around 8.0 to 8.3. Seraphina will also develop, reaching around 8.3 or slightly higher. These are just predictions, of course, and nothing is guaranteed.
What do you guys think? Where do you think the story is heading?
John vs EMBER
I thought this was actually amazing, and unfortunately, I feel like it was overlooked, especially the tactical details.
First of all, this was a pretty unfavorable matchup for John because he naturally can’t copy converted abilities. Even so, Valorian was a good choice for him since it focuses primarily on defense.
Scorch, however, had the advantage over John in both speed and power, but he was poorly suited to the way the fight played out. He isn’t really a close-range fighter to begin with, so John was able to overcome the stat difference by simply grabbing and restraining him, effectively taking his speed out of the equation.
Cinder’s intervention saved Scorch, because without her, John probably would have ended the fight pretty quickly.
Once John realized that dealing with both of them at the same time was too much, luring them into a chase was a smart decision. It bought him some time until Seraphina arrived. The two EMBER agents were faster than him, though, and they managed to catch up and overwhelm him with attacks. Their attempt to suffocate and restrain him was actually a good strategy, but John used it to bait Cinder into going for a finishing blow.
Naturally, John dragged her into a ground fight, where his superior skill and durability became much more apparent, allowing him to overwhelm her very quickly.
Cinder was obviously in a desperate situation at that point because, unlike Remi’s team, John doesn’t show mercy. His focus was purely on inflicting as much damage as possible, which forced Cinder to break protocol and use her original ability.
That turned out to be a great ability for John to copy, and once he did, he was able to finish the fight. Cinder still managed to put up some resistance by combining her ability with EMBER’s abilities, but it wasn’t enough.
Scorch also managed to deal some damage to John with his Psy-Blast. John couldn’t copy it because it’s a mental/psychic-type ability, which he most likely can’t copy in the first place. And honestly, if he could copy it, he would have an attack capable of destroying that firestorm quite easily.
It was also a great choice narratively because it helps justify John having some aura left for his fight against Orrin.
As the first real confrontation between John and EMBER, I’m satisfied with how it played out. It was a useful experience for John and gave him some extra motivation to improve, especially because of Seraphina’s persistence.
I’m really looking forward to the next fight, where I expect John to absolutely stomp EMBER. Hopefully, it’s Valerie, so he can finally prove that these pieces of trash aren’t his equals anymore.
Of course, I’m talking about the distant future here.
Do you guys think John alone can take down Cassandra’s team with the Willstone raid lineup?
John clearly has the edge in destructive power and speed, while the team has the advantage in defense, recovery, and stamina. That said, I’d give John a 95% chance of winning at his best, and a 60% chance if he has the same injuries he had in Chapter 343.
Discussion About the Specter Organization
Now that the Orrin faction has been eliminated, I would like to talk about the Spectre organization as a whole.
First, we know that this organization is relatively new, since Chapter 276 stated that it is less than ten years old. It has three executive leaders: Miranda, Orrin, and Neil.
Orrin has a research background in ability sciences and has participated in several projects with the authorities. Neil has an intelligence background and is also connected to the authorities, although we know almost nothing about him. What we do know is that he is cautious, precise, and highly competent in his field.
Miranda is almost completely unknown, but I believe she is probably the most influential of the three. On more than one occasion, she has been able to pressure Orrin and impose her will on him, and she appears to be the overall leader.
I lean toward the idea that Miranda is the main financial backer of the Spectre organization. The reason I believe this is that the organization seems to be built around Orrin’s advanced technology, Neil’s highly sophisticated covert operations, and, most likely, a massive amount of funding provided by Miranda.
In Chapter 374, Neil stated that Orrin was the strongest person in the organization, and it was later revealed that his level is 8.6. So yes, this information is most likely accurate.
Orrin may have the highest level within the organization, but Miranda has the greatest influence because of her financial power and her moderate number of powerful subordinates. However, that does not mean she is weak.
I lean toward all three leaders having levels above 8.0. If they were weaker, Orrin would probably have completely taken over the organization a long time ago.
Miranda is probably around the same level as Orrin, perhaps 8.5 or 8.4, while Neil is slightly weaker, around 8.2 or 8.3.
For balance, Orrin seems to have a larger number of subordinates, but most of them have relatively low levels, around 6.2 or below. Miranda may have a moderate number of high-level subordinates, with levels above 6.0.
Neil is the weakest of the three, but he already has Layla at 6.6, and he can make use of John at 7.6 and Serafina at 8.0. He may also have other people on his side who are above level 6.0.
As for what happens next, I currently lean toward Miranda taking immediate action regarding Orrin. Since the battle took place within or near her territory, I believe she will move quickly and deal with Orrin before the authorities can benefit from the information he possesses.
Cassandra and Arlo would still retain the achievement of capturing Orrin and obtaining some upgrades.
The Next Confrontation Against EMBER
Hello everyone,
I thought I’d talk about the trio today, especially since we’ve been missing them for around five months now.
The end of the events seemed to hint at a possible confrontation with EMBER. I’m not sure whether it’s a trap or if they’ll try to avoid drawing attention, but EMBER will notice either way. I don’t know. However, there have been hints toward a major development for Remi, as well as the possibility that Blyke might inject himself with a power enhancer, although I’m not entirely sure about that.
I’m thinking the confrontation will be Remi and her friends against a duo from EMBER, most likely Farrah and Tarik. I believe the scenario would be that Farrah is the one distributing the power enhancers, while Tarik watches and prepares to support her, like any duo working for EMBER.
I’m leaning toward Blyke not using the enhancers. As a character, he hasn’t broken yet, and he could still improve just like John did. Sacrificing Blyke’s ability wouldn’t be healthy for the story, no matter how I think about it. The authorities are already overwhelmingly superior to the main characters, so they simply can’t afford another loss after Arlo.
For me, that would make the confrontation a 4 vs. 2:
Kuyo 6.3, Remi 5.8, Isen 5.3, and Blyke 5.1 against Farrah, with hypnosis at 6.5, and Tarik, with paralysis at 6.2, in addition to EMBER’s abilities, but with Tarik having a weaker recovery ability.
I think the four of them would overpower Farrah, which would cause Tarik to intervene quickly. He would paralyze some of the characters, including Remi, who would evolve her ability at this moment and reach somewhere between 6.3 and 6.5.
She would gain the ability to transform into lightning, allowing her to escape Tarik’s paralysis. This would lead to an exciting battle that ends with the four of them defeating the duo.
That’s the scenario I came up with based on the information we currently have. However, I’m leaning toward the better scenario being to avoid a confrontation altogether if possible, even though the battle would be incredibly fun to see lol.
Discussion
Hi everyone,
Now that Orrin has been captured by the authorities, I started thinking: Man, containing him was relatively easy for someone at Level 8.6. So I wondered, would Cameron be just as easy to capture if he is only slightly stronger than Orrin, perhaps around Level 8.8 or 8.9?
But the more I think about it, the more I realize that Orrin was relatively easy to contain because of the nature of his ability, not because he wasn’t powerful enough.
Orrin has a mind-control/support-type ability, which means he lacks the basic physical stats in terms of strength and speed. As a result, he is unable to break through the barriers that block his ability or escape on his own when things go wrong.
There are also some operational limitations to his ability. For example, he can’t use his ability while moving into a host body, and he has to leave his real body completely defenseless while doing so.
Because of this, Orrin needs a team to support him and cover his weaknesses. Unfortunately for him, his team was relatively weak when it came to protecting him, especially in a high-level battle like that one.
So, Orrin wasn’t captured because he was weak. He was captured because his ability has some fundamental weaknesses that his enemies were able to exploit.
On the other hand, I find Seraphina, despite being 0.6 levels below Orrin, much harder to contain or capture. Her ability is much more versatile, and she has fewer weaknesses than Orrin.
She’s extremely powerful, meaning she can break through barriers—which is one of Orrin’s major weaknesses. She also has the luxury of being able to heal herself when she takes damage, and on top of that, she can easily escape when things start going badly.
Because of all this, I feel like capturing her would be nearly impossible unless the person trying to capture her is stronger than her, such as Orrin or Cameron.
What do you guys think? Do you agree with my reasoning, or am I just overthinking this?
John
Now that Cameron has taken John, we’re finally about to see the training arc that fans have been waiting for for years. I also have a theory about what this intense training will look like and where John’s level will be by the end of it.
I think the training will last somewhere between 12 and 18 weeks. That’s a long enough period for John to learn most of the key techniques associated with the Channel Master ability.
My guess is that Cameron will focus primarily on efficiency and mastery rather than increasing John’s raw aura reserves. The training period is relatively short, and John already possesses enormous aura reserves, so improving his control and overall proficiency would be the most logical priority.
By the end of the training, I believe John will be able to replicate some highly complex abilities, such as time manipulation, for example. I also expect him to increase the effectiveness of the abilities he copies, boosting them to around 30% above their original strength, compared to the 10% enhancement he can currently provide.
On top of that, John should learn how to store copied abilities for several days, just as Cameron can now. His recovery is also likely to improve, allowing him to regenerate his aura much faster than he currently does. In addition, we should see noticeable improvements in his strength, speed, and defense.
There’s also a possibility that he’ll gain an additional slot for a fifth copied ability, although I personally think that’s unlikely for now.
If all of this happens, I imagine John’s updated stats would look something like this:
Speed: 3
Power: 5
Defense: 5
Recovery: 6
Trick: 18
That would put his overall ability level somewhere between 8.3 and 8.5 at most. I also think his ability’s name will evolve from Aura Manipulation to Channel Master.
My Ideas and Theories
Hello, this is my first time posting here. I enjoyed the latest chapter so much that I wanted to share some of my thoughts on the recent chapters.
First of all, hats off to Uru-chan. This part of the story has been incredibly enjoyable. The fight against Orrin was excellent, and I personally liked both his personality and his ability. I was also genuinely surprised to learn that he’s level 8.6. I honestly expected him to be somewhere between 7.8 and 8.1. That said, I actually like the fact that there’s someone stronger than Seraphina outside of John’s family. His level also explains why he was able to control the fight for so long.
It also seems that Orrin has some kind of defensive ability protecting his body. It could be a mental barrier, but I’m not completely sure.
Cameron is incredible. Yes, he has a terrible personality, but his ability is amazing, and I was really impressed by the power of his white lightning. If I had to estimate his level, I’d say somewhere between 9.0 and 9.3. He seems to be either on the same level as his sister or slightly stronger. It’s hard for me to imagine him being below level 9.0. After all, Orrin is level 8.6, yet the Authorities sent what was honestly a relatively weak team to deal with him. I don’t know if they underestimated him or were simply incompetent, but Cameron clearly has to be much stronger than Orrin if he’s able to make the Authorities back off and protect John.
I also don’t think Cameron’s amplification is simply a flat 50% increase across all stats. Remi’s Lightning has a Power stat of 7, so with a 50% boost Cameron’s version would only reach 10.5. However, Arlo’s Barrier has a Defense stat of 10, meaning it should have taken at least some effort to break through. Instead, Cameron destroyed it instantly with a single attack. Because of that, I think his amplification works differently: a 50% increase to secondary stats, but a 100% increase to the main stat. If that’s the case, Cameron’s Lightning would have a Power stat of 14.
Another thought—this is just my personal opinion—is that Jane can probably do the same thing. The amplifiers used by EMBER seem imperfect, just like the ability conversion technology, which loses around 25% of the original ability’s power during the conversion process.
Seraphina’s final scene was excellent. Her scream of frustration and the way she broke down because she felt helpless make me think that when she and John reunite, they’ll both be much stronger than they are now. Personally, I expect them to reach somewhere around level 8.3 to 8.5.
One final thought: I think Cameron is cautious, not afraid, of the Authorities. He has too much to lose by openly going to war against an organization with that many resources. My guess is that he’s planning to find Jane himself. William managed to do it, so Cameron is certainly capable of doing the same. I do believe he loves his sister, and I think the way they were separated is something that still haunts him. Just as he chose to save John, I believe he’ll eventually choose to save Jane as well—most likely after John fully learns how to use his ability.
