I posted the mildly popular “show me your jasper” post if any of you saw it…well guess what, I bought the piece that I was eyeing for weeks that inspired my post, so now i’m showing you *~*my*~* jasper! And I have a question:
Bathe in the beauty of my one and only blue mountain jasper. She’s a hefty mama weighing in at around 1400 grams! It’s like a painting!! I’m obsessed. It has a REALLY big odd shaped chunk sticking out of the back that makes it hard to display properly, and I’m wondering if I can find someone with lapidary equipment who can cut it for me and we can see what else she’s hiding in there. Even with that piece cut, she would probably still be 1200 grams. what are all your thoughts on this? I would usually scoff at cutting the back of a piece, I detest slabs. (nothing wrong if you like them tho! they’re just not for me). But this wouldn’t feel like a slab, it’s so huge. Gimme your thoughts
