Guys, skip Zomato and check Ownly before ordering — the price difference is WILD 😭
I was randomly scrolling through Ownly, Zomato and Swiggy and decided to compare a few restaurants… and some of the price differences genuinely shocked me.
For example, in Laban story’s SalanKatiya (small) is ₹240 on Ownly, which is also the restaurant/store price. On Zomato, the exact same thing is ₹300. 😭
Another one: Madras Meal Company’s Ambur Special Chicken Biryani is ₹165 on Ownly, which is the actual price, but ₹265 on Zomato. I’ve literally ordered it on Zomato for around ₹185 after seeing those “60–70% OFF” coupons and thinking I was getting a great deal. 💀
That’s what made me realise that sometimes the coupon isn’t necessarily making the final price cheaper the Zomato base price itself can be much higher than the restaurant’s actual price.
Of course, it’s not every restaurant. Corner House, for example, has pretty much the same menu price on Zomato, and with the offers/coupons, Zomato can actually be worth it. I’ve noticed the same with a few other places like Olives.
But there are SO many cafes/restaurants where the difference seems huge, sometimes almost double. Now I’m definitely checking the restaurant/Only price before blindly ordering through Zomato. 😭
Anyone else noticed this with restaurants in Bangalore?
